Bow Roll Basis Information
Bow Roll is known as Spreader Rolls, Bowed Rolls, Curve bar Expanders, Banana Rolls, Camber Rolls, and Wrinkle removing Rolls. Bow Rolls are available in rubber surface, hard chrome surface and also Teflon covering for non-sticking applications. Hard chrome surface Bowed Roller is used where speed exceeds 300 meters per minute. For higher speeds, larger diameters are used to reduce the roll's RPM.
The curved rubber roller features a specific arc in the longitudinal direction, fixed by ball bearings and fully rotatable. When paper passes through the roller, it stretches longitudinally due to the roller's curvature, effectively eliminating wrinkles and preventing material distortion during cutting processes.
Bow Roll Working Principle
The key difference between standard straight rollers and curved rollers lies in the axis radian. A straight roller can be considered a curved roller with infinite radius. During paper production and processing, cross-sectional shrinkage forces often cause wrinkles. The arc roller's design applies tension across the paper's width - as the material approaches the roller's entrance span, both edges tilt toward corresponding roller ends, gradually stretching the material to prevent wrinkling.

Bow rolls are extensively used in paper, film, textile, and similar machinery. Their primary function is transverse tension application for superior anti-wrinkle performance in paper processing. The selected arc roller determines material tightness, directly affecting anti-wrinkle effectiveness.
